This stunning late-period Scottish ensemble one-of-a-kind and inspired by the 17-18th century Scottish woman’s garb. Whether you spend your days farming or feasting, this outfit is beautiful and durable and will add versatility to your wardrobe. You can layer the gorgeous tartan skirt with another of our skirts (not included) or wear it alone for your hearty Celtic garb. As you can see from the pictures, the skirt is full enough to wear over a hoop (farthingale) and would look striking on its own. The fabric is available in genuine Scottish Clan Wool Tartan, Wool Solids, or Linen. The waist is an adjustable drawstring and the skirt is available in four lengths (see below). The women of the Scottish Highlands were known for their simple and practical raiment. It is highly unlikely any of them ever wore the plaid shawl on one shoulder and under the arm as my pictures show, but the effect is familiar to most people and absolutely gorgeous!
